Helping Lucas

Hi, my name is Angela Allum, and I am fundraising for my son Lucas Allum. Last year in October Lucas was diagnosed with a rare disease called Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome. Along with Shiga Toxin E. coli. Lucas spent 59 days in the ICU unit at Sanford children's hospital. Then we spent another 25 days doing physical therapy occupational therapy and speech therapy. When Lucas finally woke up he was blind he could not see due to the press on the back of his brain we did not know if he would regain his eyesight ever again. Fortunately he did about a month later. This horrible disease caused his kidneys to shut down he was on kidney dialysis 24/7 for many many days then it went to his brain and was making him have continuous long seizures while he was under therefore building scar tissue on his brain and causing him to have brain damage now. Lucas is autistic and now has brain damage and suffers from seizures. I am his mother I am his only provider, I am a single mother of four kids and I work very hard to provide for my family, however these last two episodes of Lucas having a seizure and aspirating he was air flighted to Sioux falls once again to Sanford children's hospital where we spent 3 days at Christmas time there. Many times I have to call the ambulance to come pick him up at the house and take him to the hospital because I cannot get the seizures to stop. My insurance has said that all of this cost for the last 3 months was out of network and my insurance is not paying for it, this is why I am asking for help. I have fallen way behind on many important bills due to the fact of all the medical bills all the travel expense and all the Lost days of work. Any amount would be greatly appreciated as Lucas is permanently brain damaged and this will never go away or get better he suffers every day, he is a very strong-willed boy he is only 5 years old please pray for him and know that our family is very thankful for any help we can receive.
