Veteran Brother Sam Dell Loses Cancer Battle, Family Needs Help

My brother Sam Dell lost his battle with cancer and passed away on January 13 at the age of 52. A 20 year veteran of the U.S. Army, Sam was awarded the Bronze Star for his deployment in Iraq and retired as a Master Sergeant before finishing his career as a Corrections Officer for Lowndes and Cook Counties and a VA Security Officer.

Sam leaves behind his loving and dedicated family with his wife Elizabeth and two children, Alexandria and Cody, who greatly need our help and generosity.

Sam did not work during has last months of life, and while there are survivor benefits in place, they will not take effect for some time and do not provide sufficient income to overcome the crippling debt and medical expenses that the family is facing due to Sam’s illness. Also, Elizabeth has a severe disability that keeps her from working and she will receive little in the way of income from her meager survivor and disability benefits.

So what I am asking is for all of us, current and veteran military, corrections, law enforcement, friends, family, fellow “Canes” fans and anybody who can help my brother’s family to please, please donate and contribute. I don’t want to see Sam’s family become destitute, so I’m asking you to find it in your hearts to help with any dollar amount of donation that you are able to provide.
