Funds will go directly to his children for living expenses while they attempt to recover from the loss of him. The financial loss will be vast to his children. Corey always provided for his children. Corey was trying to fix the transmission in his youngest daughter's car the day he passed. These kids have a long road ahead of him. I thank you all for easing the burden of his burial fees.

You always think there’s a next time. Don’t wait to take that picture, to tell someone you love them, or forgive a loved one. You never know when time is up. On January 6, 2024, we learned our brother had died. It still isn’t real to our family. What I have learned from his friends and co-workers in GA was that everyone loved Corey. He had a great sense of humor. When he made a friend, it was a life long friend. Many have said, “he would give you the shirt right off his back.” That hits home really hard for me.

The last thing my brother did before he left me was give my mom the jacket he was wearing because it was going to be cold the next day. He then hugged us all goodbye and expressed how lucky he was that his good friend, Craig, had covered his shift at work so he could spend an extra day with us. Then he climbed into his truck to make the drive from Hilton Head to Atlanta, just in time for his shift that started at 3am. We didn’t see each other often after he moved to Georgia as our own families grew. My oldest daughter was graduating from the Marine Corps in South Carolina. Corey was able to drive down from Atlanta so we could all see each other before the holiday. He literally gave the jacket off his back to keep his adored mom warm. He will be remembered for always giving so that others had. He often went without so others did not. There’s a huge void left without him here.

With his unexpected passing, he leaves behind three children and one beautiful grandson as well as his four siblings and doting mother. I’m sure anyone that worked with Corey has heard of his children. He was so proud of his family. Sloane is his youngest and mother to Corey’s lil’ buddy, Tylen. His son, Gavin, is due to graduate from college in the Spring. And his oldest is Skyler, an active military member serving in the Navy. As of now, Corey had no life insurance. His children are devastated of his passing and each were still dependent of him. If Corey made a difference in your day, I ask you find it in your heart to help in any way you can to aid his children with future living expenses. All funds will be distributed evenly between his children. There will be a memorial to come and I will update this post with additional information when received.
