Axles surgery and cancer treatment

Hey y'all, my name is Kelsey Lucius and my husband, Joe, is currently deployed until November. Axle is his first love, his main guy, his best four legged friend. He's had Axle since he was 5 weeks old as the family who had the litter couldn't care for them. To get Axle, Joe bought the entire liter their puppy vaccinations and plenty of food as they wanted to keep the only brindle.

A wild puppy, absolute monster destroying so much. As he's gotten older, he's definitely mellowed out, but he's still our bugger bear and upsidedownapotomus. He's 9 years old and has so much more life, snuggles, love, and treats to enjoy.

After a day in the yard, he ate way too much chicken poop and grass and was acting really strangely. He threw up and was shaking and just unable to settle. I felt really weird leaving it be, so I brought him to the emergency animal hospital at 1am - about an hour and a half drive from home. Things were fine and the vet seemed confident he had a belly ache, but I wanted to be overly cautious with Joe being deployed so I agreed to the x-ray...

The vet caught a large splenic mass. Typically dogs come in after the spleen has ruptured or bled internally and needing to be transfused and stabilized before next steps are taken.

For some reason, my gut told me to bring him to the vet at 1am and they found this mass, giving us time to figure out our next steps of imaging, biopsy, surgery, and possible chemo depending on the pathology results.

I hate to ask, but vet bills are so damn expensive. We're looking at at least $10,000 to treat him. I need this pup to make it until November to see his Dad come home. Any help you can give would be appreciated.
