Pray for Emma

Hi, my name is Elaine McCoy, and I am asking for donations to help my son and his family cover medical expenses for my granddaughter Emma.

Emma fell ill on Friday, November 4th, and after throwing up all day and struggling to breathe, she was taken to ER that evening. She was transferred to ICU where early Saturday morning, she was intubated and put on full life support.

Later that morning, doctors determined she needed specialized care, and she was airlifted to a medical facility with a pediatric cardiac unit.

A virus was attacking her heart, and it could not beat strongly enough to oxygenate her blood. She was intubated and placed on ECMO to provide prolonged cardiac and respiratory support.

In mid-December she was transferred to an Intensive Physical Therapy program to assist her with relearning how to walk.

Emma was readmitted to the hospital in mid-January to treat a deep infection in her left leg. She had major surgery on Jan 31st and will be hospitalized for an additional 5-7 days. This surgery will change her life forever and will be the beginning of a long recovery. We remain blessed that she survived the myocarditis and subsequent infection and will be able to move forward with her life.

Funds raised will be used for medical and transportation expenses for Emma.
