Raising from the ashes

Hello, we are Nico and Vico, two Argentinians living in Australia.

We arrived in this country a few weeks ago in search of making a memorable and unique journey, to explore new places and meet new people in this experience.

A few days ago, our journey took an unexpected turn.

One night, while we were resting, we left the battery of an electric bike we had rented for transportation charging, and it exploded next to us. Our apartment caught fire, and we lost all our belongings.

Everything we had with us ended up in the flames. Our clothes, phones, computers, documents, the savings of our lives, many memories – all those pieces of our life that we brought from our country were consumed in the fire.

We were able to get out in time, as we could have lost our lives, so we are very grateful. However, we lost everything we had with us.

Despite this tragedy, we are not giving up, and we want to continue our journey here in Australia.

So far, no insurance has covered the damage, and we don't know if we will get a response from the manufacturer of the batteries, the cause of this disaster.

We are seeking to raise $10,000 to buy clothes, medications, suitcases, and to cover the cost of living until we can recover and rebuild our lost home.

Additionally, we want to raise awareness about this accident so that no one else has to experience this nightmare. We know that these types of accidents have been increasing lately, and the number of electric bikes on the roads is enormous.

Hola, somos Nico y Vico, dos argentinos viviendo en Australia.

Llegamos a este país hace unas semanas en búsqueda de hacer un viaje memorable y único, para conocer nuevos lugares y personas en esta experiencia.

Hace unos días nuestro viaje tuvo un giro inesperado.

Una noche mientras descansábamos dejamos cargando la batería de una bicicleta eléctrica que alquilamos como medio de transporte y explotó al lado nuestro. Se incendió nuestro departamento y perdimos todas nuestras pertenencias.

Todo lo que teníamos con nosotros quedó en medio del fuego. Nuestra ropa, celulares, computadoras, documentos, los ahorros de nuestra vida, muchos recuerdos. Todos esos pedacitos de nuestra vida que trajimos desde nuestro país se consumió en medio del fuego.

Pudimos salir a tiempo ya que podríamos haber perdido nuestra vida por lo que estamos muy agradecidos, sin embargo, perdimos todo lo teníamos con nosotros.

Pese a esta tragedia, no bajamos los brazos y queremos seguir nuestro viaje aquí en Australia.

Hasta ahora, ningún seguro se hizo cargo y no sabemos si vamos a tener respuesta del fabricante de las baterías, el causante de todo este desastre.

Buscamos recaudar 10000 dólares para comprar ropa, medicamentos, valijas y poder pagar el costo de vivir hasta que podamos ir recuperándonos, rearmar nuestro hogar que perdimos.

Y también visibilizar este accidente para que a nadie más vuelva a vivir esta pesadilla, sabemos que este tipo de accidentes son algo que esta creciendo en el último tiempo y la cantidad de bicicletas eléctricas que circulan es enorme.
