Help fund Dr Andy Breeze's Kidney Transplant
Donation protected
Dr Andy Breeze is a father of 3 young children (3-year-old twins and a 7-year-old), who works as a medical doctor with the Kaduna State Ministry of Health in Nigeria, where he works tirelessly serving patients under his care. Andy is an extremely kind and generous soul, and such is his heart for people that, he regularly leads medical outreach missions to rural under-served communities right across Nigeria, including in Northern Nigeria, despite the well-known security risks in that part of the country.
Andy was sadly diagnosed with resistant hypertension about 8 months ago following hospitalisation with a severe hypertensive crisis. Despite best efforts by his doctors to control his blood pressure, his condition progressed to hypertensive kidney disease. He was formally diagnosed with end-stage kidney disease 3 months ago and started twice-weekly haemodialysis in June 2023. Given the unreliable access to renal dialysis services in Nigeria, the long-term costs and complications of haemodialysis and its impact on daily life, Andy requires an urgent kidney transplant to save his life and help him regain his quality of life.
“Andy Breeze”, as his friends call him, is an absolute gentleman who loves to serve people. As a medical student at the University of Nigeria, Andy helped many of his peers and junior colleagues get through the many gruelling medical school examinations and consistently gave of himself to serve his colleagues. Andy now needs our help to raise 30M naira (approximately £30,000) for a kidney transplant. This would cover the cost of the transplant surgery and necessary aftercare until he can return to full employment. Unfortunately, Andy is unable to afford this hefty medical bill, and as the breadwinner in his household, his family’s livelihood is now at risk as a result of this illness. Would you please consider giving to help Andy obtain this life-saving surgery? Thank you for your generosity!
