AYDA Senegal Fundraiser for the Henhouse Project
Tax deductible
Summary
AYDA Senegal is raising funds for its youth development programs in Africa. The Henhouse Project aims to impart education and training to the participants on how to raise chickens and start their own business. It also ensures that the finances earned from the program are redirected to youth development projects to uplift the underserved communities in Africa. Any donation helps!
Help us create more impact on youth development in Senegal
Please help us create more impact by supporting AYDA Senegal’s Henhouse Project. The AYDA Senegal team will manage this project and aim to buy 300 chickens and the grain, vaccines and chicken houses needed to raise the chickens. The farmed chickens and their eggs will then be sold to generate an income that will support AYDA Senegal’s youth development and education work.
The proceeds from selling chickens through the Henhouse Project will be used to buy an agricultural plot of land to expand the size of the project and to then support our youth development and education work in Senegal.
Why we support education and youth development in Senegal?
AYDA’s youth participants will be taught about the process (and ethics) of raising chickens as well as managing a poultry business. Hopefully this will also lead to the development of micro-enterprises by some students in future, after gaining the skills, knowledge and practical experience of raising and selling chickens.
All the students at the AYDA Center in the Darou neighborhood will benefit from the revenue generated by the henhouse. Approx. $400 profit every 45 days. Recently, there were 200 kids at the AYDA Center benefiting from an event we had. That is the capacity of the AYDA Center for events, but our current AYDA Center capacity is only about 100 kids. We have enough staff to train 20 kids per 45 days.
Kids will be taught how and where to buy baby chickens, where you can ethically and safely raise the chickens, how to build an area to raise chickens, what food to buy, what antibiotics to buy, and they will be taught the important of grass-fed and fruit-fed chickens instead of unnatural foods. Kids will be taught how to encourage production of eggs, how to breed more chickens, and how and where to sell their chickens. Chickens are cage free. The people working with chickens have experience raising chickens.
How to support our campaign
I am asking for your help to provide funds that will purchase supplies to build the henhouse, chicks and food for the first batch of chickens. If you would like to help AYDA start a sustainable business, please consider donating to this cause. Any amount would be greatly appreciated.
