Aysha's Leadership Trip to Dubai

I have officially been invited to participate in a leadership program in the city of Dubai in United Arab Emirates with scholars from the Dr. Katherine Y. Brown (KYB) Leadership Academy.  KYB is a year training program whose mission is to build the capacity for global leadership while also increasing awareness of pulmonary hypertension. Training focuses on health, leadership, government, and finance.
 
I learned many beneficial leadership skills, during my time in the program, that allowed me to be successful in my endeavors. As a member of the 7thcohort of KYB I gained valuable experience from the solo planning and execution of a 3 on 3 basketball tournament for Roberta Baines Wheeler Pulmonary Hypertension Awareness Group as well as participation in the development of the organization’s annual PH Awareness Day.
 
During the days of the trip, I will work to explore social and economic problems through a comparative analysis of Dubai and Nashville. I will be learning about the access to health care for patients diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension, developing health promotion interventions, as well as participating in a service project during the cultural immersion experience program. While this is going to be incredible and so worthwhile, I will need support in funding the trip.  Every little bit helps! This will not be possible without donations from my loving family, friends and anyone else who is gracious to contribute to my leadership experience.
