Andrew (Skatz) & Liz have survived the fight against cancer and now just need to recover. Thanks to the generosity of others they have survived the year’s financial hardships and Skatz has had the operation to remove the cancer. Now it’s all about recovery. Thankyou for your generous help.

My good friend Skatz is battling cancer - he and his wife need our help.

He’s a musician, and he’s now on the second stage of chemotherapy treatment to shrink his 10cm colorectal tumour. Sadly his fatigue has rendered him unable to book or do any more gigs, probably for the rest of this year as he’ll still need to recover from the operation at the end of it all.

He’s a tremendously energetic performer and had built up a loving following along the south coast of Spain last year which no doubt would have seen him have a great long season of shows this year.

He and his lovely wife Liz are both hard working, self-employed people who improve the lives of people in the community with their work, humour, and energy.

While Liz worries and looks after Skatz she’s also running pamper days, massage sessions and yoga classes, and Skatz somehow finds the strength to continue to make videos and run live broadcasts from home on his very positive and useful YouTube channel, YouTooSpain, helping people to understand how to move to Spain and live here.

Liz’s earnings aren’t enough on their own to cover their expenditure, and like most growing YouTube channels, YouTooSpain can only earn a small amount of revenue from advertising so it depends on irregular donations and sponsorship too.

The channel would potentially have grown considerably this year, but Skatz only has the energy to keep it ticking over to avoid losing subscribers and momentum. These will be vital once he’s back to full strength.

He talks candidly about his chemo journey and the often humorous battle with Freddie the tumour on his video diary on YouTooSpain (links below), and this has inspired quite a few people to have check ups with their doctor which could potentially save their lives, or at the very least save them the long and sickly treatment Skatz is having to endure.

So, in the words of Skatz’s many slogans, ‘peace & love’ to you all (‘peas & fluff!’), raise your glasses in his toast ’Still Alive!’, shout ‘Feck Off Freddie!’ and donate what you can to help him and Liz survive this period of financial hardship. ‘It’s a win win win with a cherry on top!’
