Hola, mi nombre es Estefanía.

Soy maestra de idiomas, traductora e intérprete, y mi sueño es preservar la cultura tibetana a través de mi trabajo, especialmente posibilitar el acceso de la comunidad hispana a las profundas enseñanzas tibetanas a través de la traducción directa del tibetano al español.

La cultura tibetana se caracteriza por los principios del amor, la sabiduría y la compasión. El tesoro tibetano está en su arte, literatura, psicología, medicina, astrología, y todos éstos se ven contenidos dentro de la lengua tibetana.

Sin embargo, la cultura tibetana atraviesa un periodo oscuro donde su lengua está en peligro y, con ella, la identidad de su pueblo y la riqueza que tanto ha aportado a Occidente.

Hoy tengo la oportunidad de recibir una formación completa en el idioma y el arte de su traducción e interpretación directamente hacia la cuarta lengua más hablada del mundo.

Mi compromiso al finalizar dicha formación es no únicamente traducir e interpretar, sino, a mi vez, formar más hablantes de la lengua tibetana, así como traductores e intérpretes, para asegurar, por un lado, la preservación del idioma, y, por el otro, que siempre tenga el sustento necesario para sobrevivir.

Hello, my name is Estefania.

I am a language teacher, translator and interpreter, and my dream is to help preserve the Tibetan culture through my work, especially to enable the English and Spanish-speaking community to access the profound Tibetan teachings through direct translation from Tibetan to English and Spanish (the latter being a more rare target language within the field ofTibetan translation).

Tibetan culture is characterized by the principles of love, wisdom and compassion. The treasury of the Tibetan people can be found in their art, literature, psychology, medicine, astrology, and all of these are contained within the Tibetan language.

However, the Tibetan culture is also going through a dark period where its language is endangered and, with it, the identity of its people and the vast richness it has brought to the West.

Today I have the opportunity to receive a complete training in the language and the art of its translation and interpretation directly into the fourth most widely spoken language in the world.

My commitment at the end of this training is not only to translate and interpret, but, in my turn, to train more Tibetan speakers, translators and interpreters, to ensure, on the one hand, the preservation of the language, and, on the other hand, that it will always have the necessary support to survive.
