AYUDANOS A CERRAR MANIJA

Manija es una tienda queer creada en el 2023 con el fin de armar un espacio único en la ciudad de Madrid. Contamos con una seleccion curada de ropa vintage y hacemos upcylcling para darle una nueva vida a las prendas y alentar el consumo sustentable. Siendo 3 presonas migrantes, el proyecto resultó un desafio desde el principio, pero las ganas de emprender fueron más grandes que la incertidumbre y así nos lanzamos a la piscina.

Lamentablemente, el arriesgarse al comercio local en una recesión económica global es algo complejo y no pudimos crecer como nos hubiese gustado. Es así que tras mucho debate hemos decidido cerrar las puertas de Manija y finalizar el proyecto.

Gran parte del proceso fue ir descubriendo la cantidad de gastos, a veces no contemplados, que iban apareciendo mientras se desarrollaba el negocio. Incluso a la hora de cerrar, hay trámites, impuestos, y costos que debemos cubrir y estamos teniendo dificultades para juntar los recursos necesarios para solventarlos en su totalidad. Por eso pedimos a todxs lxs que puedan ayudar a estxs mostrxs a atravesar este momento complejo con cualquier tipo de colaboracion y poder hacer mas amable este cierre de ciclo.

Manija is a queer concept store established in 2023 with the aim of creating a unique space in the city of Madrid. We have offered a curated selection of vintage clothing and we did a lot of upcycling to give new life to our garments and to encourage sustainability. As the 3 of us partners are immigrants, running our business proved to be a challenge from the beginning, but the desire to create was greater than the uncertainty we faced so we went ahead with our project. Unfortunately, the risks of starting a local business in a global economic recession were more complex to undertake than we had hoped and we were not able to grow as we would have liked. Therefore, after much debate we have decided to close our beloved shop.

A large part of the process was discovering the amount of expenses that would come up while the business was growing. Even at this time, there are procedures, taxes, and other costs that we must pay for and we are having difficulties gathering the necessary resources to cover them entirely. This is why we ask everyone who can, to give us a hand to get through this complex time. Any collaboration, no matter how small, will help us close this cycle and be able to move forward.
