Ayudemos todos a Mandito

Hi everyone! On April 27th, there was a shooting right outside George Wythe High School (Richmond Public Schools). One of our community members, 16 year old Victor Sandoval is currently in the hosptial with life threatening injuries as a consequence of this horrific event. His case is not only a reminder that the gun violence epidemic is not as distant as you would think, but also that gun violence affects our low income communities of color the most. His situation reflects those fears we all share as students, parents, siblings, or anyone else who may have loved ones in school. His family is distraught and out of work. They have a disabled child at home that needs care 24/7 and now have a son in the hospital who is fighting for his life simply for seeking an education. Today I am asking that you keep Victor in your prayers, and donate to his family if you can. They are immigrants from Honduras and are uninsured, and will unfortunately be struck with thousands in medical bills after this ordeal. His family are activists who fight for housing rights for all the community and it’s time we give back to them.
