Shane Duvall was a typical kid growing up – happy, full of energy and happiness. Loved playing baseball and hanging out with his friends. He was a solid student and was well liked by all his teachers and coaches. In high school, life changed for Shane and our family. Drugs became a part of Shane’s life. The happy, fun loving kid started to become a different person and the journey we all were on was a tough one. Outpatient programs were not consistently effective. 12 weeks in an Inpatient made a difference, but couldn’t keep the temptations away. June 15, 2020 - after nine years, Shane lost his battle with addiction, and life has forever changed for our family and friends close to us.
During this journey, Shane was his best when he was working with Holly Williamson, who ran a program in the school district (along with her program outside the district). After completing his required time with Holly, Shane stayed on as a mentor in Holly’s program. Shane related and respected Holly, as she had been down the same path and knew the issues they were going through. His time with her brought back the pre-high school Shane we all remember.
Holly now is the Director of Az Women’s Recovery Center and is still doing amazing things for women and their families that are struggling with addiction.
Our goal is to support AWRC so they can help others going down the same path – PLEASE help us help Holly and AWRC – any amount makes a difference in someone’s life
