Anjie's Cancer Medical Journey

This past week has been a nightmare not only for my baby sister, but for me and my family as well. It all started with a positive tuberculosis skin test which lead my sister to have a routine chest x-ray at her local clinic. Luckily she was free from tuberculosis, but the MD at the clinic noticed an abnormal nodule found in her chest x-ray. Long story short, my sister was reffered to the oncology unit at Shands/UF Health for additional exams. After various MRI's, x-rays, bone scans and blood work, a team of doctors got together and studied my sisters results leading to a possible diagnosis of chondrosarcoma of the sternum. This cancer is a rare cancer diagnosing only 600 individuals a year in the United States. There is a possiblity it could be a Giant cell sarcoma as well but treatment will be the same. How did this happen and were did all this come from will remain a mystery!! As of right now we have a doctor in Miami Florida who is helping our family in this case and we are going with Mayo Clinic to help with the removal of this tumor. We do not know how long she has had this tumor and how progressive this has become. We are praying that we have found this in time. Doctors are saying that this type of cancer is resistant to chemotherapy and radiation meaning the chemo and radiation will not kill the tumor. We are praying that this tumor is Giant cell tumor or has not become too extensive to surgically remove and with the help of a cardiologist they will be able to remove the tumor since its right above her heart. Im am begging for your prayers and help through this!! Because her insurance will not cover all the expenses for the surgery im asking to please have it in your heart to donate so we can get this thing out of her safely so she can go back to her beautiful life as a new registered nurse!! This is the heart of our family, the baby, our pride and joy, our everything and im begging for everyones help in this!!! I wish id wake up tommorow and know this was a nightmare but its not. But through Gods strength and love, he will help us find a way and cure her from this. Please share this an help with a donation, anything will help. God bless you all!
