Service Dog for Lena

Everyone knows how much this growing girl means to me and that I would do anything for her! Everyone in my life has been so helpful with my sister's family....from the first fundraisers when Lena was born like the Garage Sale Fundraiser...to Justin having Leukemia and the wonderful donations...now to growing Lena and her wish to have a service dog!

This dog would provide Lena with the opportunity to safely and independently walk in many different environments. Lena LOVES the outdoors, but much of it is inaccessible to her with her walker due to the uneven ground. In talking with Lena's mom today Lena told her that the thing she is most excited to do with her service dog is go to the creek on their property just like her siblings do!!! A service dog would allow her to go to the creek on their property, allow her to go up and down the beach at her grand parents lake instead of crawling, go on short hikes and walk up and down steps. These are all things that she can do with a service dog but she is unable to do using a walker!

So now begins the fundraising efforts for Lena's service dog! The amount listed includes: finding the right puppy prospect that has been bred for service dog work, initial training including task training, specialized vet and x-rays for mobility task training, and equipment for training and task work.
