Annual Ramadan Fundraiser
Tax deductible
This Ramadan, consider supporting the local underserved population through direct services provided by Salaam Cleveland
Salaam Cleveland is a social service organization that serves the underserved population locally, right here in Northeast Ohio. Every year, we rely on our fundraising events to keep our programs running. This year, our fundraisers have been canceled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
We understand that this is a trying time for all of us. The pandemic has affected all of our lives, from the way we shop to how we spend our nights during this holy month. What we know is that the pandemic disproportionately affects the underserved population of our community. And as there is a rise in the unemployed, we fully expect a rise of those who are in need of our services.
Through our program, Salaam Clinic, we are able to directly help hundreds of individuals and families across northeast Ohio who are in need of help. Under the leadership of local Muslim physicians and leaders in healthcare, a healthcare based social program was established in 2019. Salaam Clinic provides services free of charge to the uninsured and underinsured population. This includes primary and preventative care, behavioral health, as well as health education. In order to prevent any gaps in care during the covid-19 pandemic, Salaam Clinic established a telehealth service for the uninsured and underinsured. As a fallout from the pandemic, we expect the uninsured and underinsured population to rise dramatically. To keep the operation running smoothly, and to expand our services for the expected increase of those in need, we are in need of funding.
Salaam kids, our other new program established in 2019, was formed in part to help children of all backgrounds form bonds with one another at an early age. Salaam kids provides counseling to educate and help kids achieve their full potential and future goals. The program also provides mentorship for the children, so they may have good role models.
A plea for funds:
Salaam Cleveland began its journey with small acts of kindness: providing food, blankets, clothes, and other amenities to the needy. We’ve since moved towards broader social issues, addressing domestic violence, health concerns, and refugee settlement disputes. Help us create a sustainable organization that empowers the community. We have a goal this Ramadan of raising $25,000. The social investment you make goes directly towards services for the affected population. We are asking individuals to give a small monthly donation. For the price of a coffee a month, you can take a reward in helping the needy and underserved who live in our communities. You can help their kids grow stronger by creating kinship, and you can make their families safer through access to healthcare. Please support us.
