Azaylia For Alexander - Christmas Marathon

In November 2021, The Azaylia Foundation donated £10,000 to Alexander’s GoFundMe campaign towards his pioneering immunotherapy treatment in Germany.

 

Alexander has since had to start a new treatment for the inhibitor drug Dabrafenib before being able to undertake immunotherapy in Germany. This is a two year inhibitor treatment which he will receive from Royal Marsden at a cost of £64,399.92, as it is not yet available for children from the NHS. Alexander is the first child in the UK to go through this trial straight after radiotherapy, as all other children have had to wait until the tumour grew back before being offered it. This treatment is not known to cure tumours, but it has previously shown very good results in stopping further growth and spreading.

 

Alexander’s mum Rhonda approached us to see if we could help with this further cost, as she is now torn between spending precious time with her child or dedicating it to raising funds.

 

As we have already donated directly as a foundation, we wanted to create something that would inspire our incredible community to support Alexander’s campaign directly. Ashley’s Christmas marathon challenge is the perfect opportunity for Azaylia to come to Alexander’s rescue.

 

This Christmas day, Ashley will be running a marathon to raise funds for Alexander's inhibitor treatment. All funds go directly to the family and anything raised beyond the £65,000 goal will go towards Alexander's immunotherapy treatment in Germany.
