Three days of giving, three days of hope
Cycling 100 miles per day for three days over Christmas, for two special children
This Christmas, Ashley will be taking on a new challenge to support two children. Azaylia for Elaiya and Philo will see Ashley cycle 100 miles a day for three days (Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day), for a total of 300 miles - in order to urgently raise funds for their treatment.
Ashley Cain and Safiyya Vorajee were only able to spend one Christmas with their baby girl, Azaylia, before she passed away from Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) at just eight months old. Christmas will never be the same for them.
Last year, their first Christmas without Azaylia, Ashley decided to run a marathon on Christmas day to raise funds for children in critical need of treatment not available from the NHS. That marked the beginning of the “Azaylia For...” Christmas Challenge series.
Childhood Cancer is the number one killer of children in the UK, yet it receives less than 3% of cancer research funding. It shouldn’t be surprising that as a result, more and more parents are forced to seek expensive treatment which isn’t available via the NHS, to save their children’s lives.
The Azaylia Foundation has already donated £20,000 to support the treatment of these children (£10,000 each). For this campaign, which will be set up on Go Fund Me, we have set a realistic yet ambitious target of £100,000, but there is no limit as much more is needed to treat these children. 100% of funds raised will go towards the treatment of Elaiya and Philo.
Elaiya and Philo’s families are trying to raise £1,000,000 and £500,000 respectively in order to access treatment in the United States and Germany. As such, we will share all funds raised evenly across the two families.
Funds will be handled by The Azaylia Foundation who will then distribute them to the families via their own GoFundMe fundraisers.
