Rose Hoene needs our help

Donation protected
Hello Rosie lovers!! Our girl Rose will be hoping to get home from the Mpls hospital on Thursday03/27 after her Lifeflight ambulance ride several weeks ago. She's now off all oxygen and ventilation and doing well. She's lost a total of 50 lbs since her journey began, so can't lose anymore. We need to make sure she can get home and not have to worry about her bills which are piling up as we speak. She had some great family helping her through this journey and her gal pals will take over when she gets home. I am REPOSTING the GFM to make sure she has $$$ in her account. If you can give please do, if you can't please SHARE this post. Thank you, thank you to her family and friends for keeping up the efforts of sharing her story and needs.

Day Two: Progress
Rose had a good night. Amazingly, she was able to get a solid 7-8 hours of sleep! She feels pretty good. Her biggest complaints are general soreness, water retention, itchy skin and neuropathy pain. The new kidney is still acting a bit sluggish. To quote her surgeon: “not going gangbusters” - but still not alarming. Just unusual. Most of her labs are improving. And they did another test today to measure the input/output from the kidney. We will hear the results from that tomorrow. A key focus now is learning and adapting to her new anti-rejection drug routine. More on that in the future. No firm date for when she will be discharged. Maybe Saturday…? Stay tuned!

Good morning! Got this from Rose. Had her kidney transplant yesterday!!!

I will probably be in the hospital about five days, but everyone is different, and who knows. I am healing slowly. Kidney is not completely functioning yet. They will know more today, day two. I have a lot of fluid on me right now. But going to get Lasix today twice and hope that helps. I am learning more about the anti-rejection drugs and grateful. So far everyone has been great lots of attention! Fairly had a minute free yesterday. All is good. Love you.

She will be down in cities several weeks - they keep a close eye on labs and output and also make sure anti rejection drugs will be effective. She is receiving good care!

Past update: Tuesday Aug 13th Rose Hoene will be receiving her new kidney at Fairview Hospital in Mpls! Updates will be posted on her Caring Bridge site. Please send messages through the site and send all the love and light possible! Go Rose Go! We are rooting for you. For today, we celebrate her last dialysis run!

Rose has end stage kidney disease which requires a transplant. She was on dialysis but had a recent infection and complications that lead to hospitalization and a couple surgeries. She will be doing hemodialysis going forward which means she will need to go into a facility for dialysis and possible recovery from operation. She's no longer able to work. Rose is a lovely human, an amazing singer and has done much for her community. It's time for us to help out. If you can help please do. Please share the Caring Bridge post. Many thanks. Kim
