Travis & Joel Sevy
Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart I share that my sweet nephew, Joel Kent Sevy (son of Travis & Lindsay Sevy) passed away Friday after a tragic accident in Beijing, China, where his family lives. Joel was only thirteen and a beloved sibling to his twin brother, Leif, his older brother, Asher, and his sisters, Mayah and Paige. Words cannot express the incredible loss we feel without him. Joel was always looking out for others and would be the first person there when there was a cousin that needed to be played with or cheered up. He had a special connection with babies and could help any crying baby calm down. His smile and love brought happiness to everyone he met. My brother-in-law, Travis, suffered critical injuries and underwent multiple surgeries after heroically risking his life to rescue his son.
We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love worldwide from family members, friends, and coworkers. Our family has seen many miracles and we know God is with my sister's family. We want to thank the hundreds of people helping them in China. It is heartbreaking to not be there, but we know the Sevys are surrounded by friends and angels.
If you would like to donate to help my sister's family, a Go Fund Me account has been set up. For anyone that is able, any donation amount will alleviate their burdens and will be deeply appreciated.
As our hearts are breaking, we also know without a doubt that Jesus lives and is in the details of our lives. He knows us and loves us and will bring us peace. Revelations 21:4: "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."
