Bettie a Senior Scammed by fake Government grant
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Bettie I am a Senior Citizen age 64 and I'm asking for donations because I was scammed on Messenger by someone impersonating a government organization offering free grants for senior citizens. I didn't know it was a Scam. I lost $800 of my SSI money. I am asking for donations to cover the money I lost in the SCAM I'm a single lady I live alone and have no one to help me. Let me explain what happened I received a message on Messenger from who I thought was my homegirl Dandria telling me about a Government free grant for Seniors. She said she had got the free grant and she sent the American Express gift cards for $1,000 ( 2 $500 gift cards) so the person that I thought was Dandria said I will send you the link to apply for the free grant. I said ok she said fill it out I did then that's when I was told to go to Walmart and get the American Express gifts cards. The Agent then said let me know after you purchase the gift cards. So I texted him back after I purchased the cards. Then I was instructed to take a copy of the front and back on of the gift cards and a picture of the receipt and send it to the Agent. They also was told to make a copy of my license front and back and send that so they will know it's really me. I did all that then they told me that they couldn't send me the money cause I didn't pay the full $1,000 that I needed to pay $200 more dollars I told the Agent that I didn't have anymore money. He kept saying I had to pay it to get the $50,000 grant money. I got frustrated and said well just give me my $800 back they wouldn't so then I realized I had been scammed. I broke down crying cause that was my August bill money. I told that Agent I have to pay my bills. But he wouldn't give me my money back. I will share the conversation between me and Dandria and me and the Agent but the Agent was acting as Dandria they hacked her Messenger. I spoke with her on FaceTime and she didn't know anything about what I was talking about. So I told her that her Messenger account was hacked. I hope no one will judge me I know I should know better but I thought I was texting with my homegirl I didn't know I was being scammed. I'm learned from this experience I won't make this mistake ever again. I'm sharing my story to help other Senior citizens so they won't make the same mistake. I know some people will say I should have known better but I thought it's my homegirl she wouldn't hurt me. She was also hurt in this as well. I would appreciate any amounts will help. I just need to pay my August bills.
Thank you and God Bless You..
