Hi, my name is Ashlie and I’m fund raising to assist to pay for my God daughter Kaitlyn’s medical bills and to help her family during this trying time.
We found out March 21, 2024 that my God daughter Kaitlyn has cancer, and will be fighting the biggest fight of her life for not only herself but for her baby boy Jaylen. Kaitlyn had been having severe leg pain and when her Momma took her to the doctor a month prior, her doctor brushed them off. He didn’t xray and told them to get a brace and take Tylenol. What we thought was a torn ligament or a simple knee injury was much worse than anyone could have ever imagined. Kaitlyn has been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma. Her medication alone is $30,000 a month. Not to include all of the other care that is needed. She will spend a minimum of 30-45 days in patient, on top of extremely serious and expensive surgical procedures.
I’m going to copy and paste her Mother Kimberly’s updates below. However if you have any thing you are able to donate it would be greatly appreciated. We will update as this journey continues. Please pray for our babygirl, she is a fighter and one of the strongest young woman I know.
We love you baby!!!

From Momma (Kimberly):
“It's been a month and Kaitlyn has been having a knee problem. We took her to her pediatrician who didn't do an X-ray and said it was inflamed and to take Tylenol because she's pregnant there's not much to take and for me to go to Walmart and get her a brace so we did. And 2 more weeks go by and she tells me it's getting worse, then she fell in the shower because of it so I called orthopedic specialist last week and got her an appointment for today so we went and they did an X-ray. The Dr walks in nearly crying and doesn't speak she showed me the X-ray and she says nothing really I just looked at her and knew that it was bad. The doctor then said this is a really scary x-ray and we need to get her admitted to the hospital right now today and then do a biopsy and look at radiation and chemotherapy for cancer, osteosarcoma. Her leg is physically changed in the short time. She has severe swelling and is in pain. I thought for sure the doctor was going to say it was dislocated or something was broken. This was not on our radar at all. We were completely blindsided with this.. This is not what I think I'd ever go through or my children would ever go through or my husband would go through. They sent us over to The children's hospital downtown where she is currently admitted, it was a long process because we had to find out which hospital wanted to take this on and with her being pregnant this added to a little bit of issues dealing with doctors and their policies for minors & being pregnant and being on the oncology floor. So she had a great team of doctors and nurses that fought really hard for Kaitie today and for that we very thankful for.. The current plan in motion is tomorrow She's having a biopsy to see how far this has spread And to see the plan of treatment. Hopefully we'll find out the results of that soon because I want to hurry up and fix this now, but the doctor is saying it might be Monday or Tuesday for the results. We don't know what is going to happen in the days coming. We have a lot we're trying to take in at the moment. We're trying to make sure that Kaitie is taken care of and her health is our first priority while trying to make sure the baby stays safe. Choices may need to be made at some point and risks might need to be taken. So continue to keep her, the baby, and Kris in y'all's prayers as young parents that's got to be an intense thought and emotion. We want to thank everybody for their love and support. Family jumped in their cars and started making the drive from Virginia. Friends are coming in. Friends have offered to come in. She had visitors all day, kris's family all came and he left school and was bedside all day. We basically took over the ER. Tomorrow she'll have a waiting room full of people. The love and support has been felt and we thank you all. Sorry about the vague post earlier. We just needed the prayers, We still need them. I'm trying to hold it together. I've cried so much today. Don't think I can cry anymore. Jerry's held it together for me but I have a feeling he's going to break soon. It's been a little frustrating being on the phone so I appreciate everybody giving us our space and allowing us to respond as we get time or feel up to it. We will post again tomorrow to keep everybody in the loop. Just pray for the doctors tomorrow and keep Kaitie & baby Jaylen in your prayers. The Norton children's orthopedic on Breckenridge are absolutely amazing and compassionate. We got hugs from every doctor, every PA, every UC and they all cried with us. We've had great nurses and great doctors while here. The care has been great and very appreciated.
This all feels like a dream or like the biggest lie ever. I'm so lost I just want to fix things and protect my baby girl. Work is allowing me time off to be with my kiddo and navigate this all. I truly appreciate the support I've gotten from my work family and those that are reaching out to us.”
