Dear Friends and Supporters,
We need your help expanding our school into a larger space to serve more of Chicago's children and families!
We're looking for a permanent home for CHESS! We're looking to purchase a property (under $250,000) with cash.
Owning our building outright will eliminate debt, allowing us to serve families and grow our mission without financial constraints.
We've already raised a little over $20,000. We're now reaching out to our community to help us bridge the gap to reach our goal and secure a permanent home for CHESS.
Christian Home Educators Support System (CHESS) provides a "3-in-1 learning center" - the K-Community - where homeschool families and students from our in-person and online microschool school, KGCA, come together to create a fun and inspiring learning experience.
My husband, Ronald, and I have been homeschooling for 18 years. We have four children: two homeschooled graduates, one college graduate, and one entering a trade program.
Since 2007, our K-12 microschool and parent-led homeschool co-op have been blessed to train, educate, and equip students from Louisiana, Illinois, Indiana, and Florida to achieve great success, graduate high school, and access opportunities to help them reach their full potential.
Our community serves 18 families (42 children). Of these, 23 children are in our basement utilizing the A. C. E. (Accelerated Christian Education) program, a self-paced, Bible-based curriculum that adapts to individual learning abilities.
We also offer co-op enrichment classes on Wednesdays in Financial Literacy, Black History, Public Speaking, Civics, Music, Latin, urban gardening, and SMARTE (Science, Math, Arts, Robotics, Technology, and Engineering).
We desire to serve many more families and provide additional learning spaces, such as a library and media center, a pre-K/Kindergarten room, a science lab, a music room, and an expanded outdoor area.
A new building with at least 2,500 square feet will allow us to accommodate at least 50 students, serve the growing population of homeschooled families, and add additional learning rooms.
By expanding, we can enhance the educational environment and continue to instill a Biblical worldview and academic excellence in the next generation.
How You Can Help:
Your donation, no matter the size, will bring us one step closer to this dream. Every dollar you contribute will go directly towards purchasing a property, allowing us to expand educational freedom and giving parents across Chicago and surrounding areas a better alternative to public education.
Owning our property will allow us to serve and help our community without the financial burden of loan payments, allowing us to reinvest in our mission.
