NOT "Crippled Inside"
Donation protected
My dear friends, Melody Rogers and her husband Patrick(Paraquat) Kelley need our help. Patrick was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis in 2003. He has not been able to walk since 2006 and now needs help to even sit up. The disease has taken away his body but not his mind and spirits !!!! He is not "Crippled Inside" as the great John Lennon song goes. His medical and caregiving expenses are astronomical. He has a caretaker 5 days a week for 8 hours. He now needs full time care. Full time care can cost up to $7,000 to $10,000 a month. Melody(72) is working in the real estate business to support them and pay for all of his medical and caregiving expenses. She always has a smile on her face and never complains but it is clearly taking quite a toll on her. He is a vet but the VA has been of no assistance. She has done years of research tryng to find help from anywhere to no avail. Long term care insurance is the only insurance that will cover a caretaker. I would strongly advise that anyone 50 or over buy it especially since seeing what they are going through. They are in the process of getting their house of 31 years ready for sale to help pay for all of the medical and healthcare expenses not to mention just supporting the two of them. I know this is breaking their hearts, but Melody just can't keep it all up anymore. Melody is a great real estate agent and does very well but all of this is overwhelmng her. To work the hours you have to work as a good real estate agent and be a caretaker and in the process watch your husband suffer with such a debilitating disease is heavy duty. Again, you would never know what she is going through. She talks about how grateful she is for all of the good things in her life. Her clients love her and she does a great job for them. Melody and Pat are very special people and it would mean so much to me and them if you helped...any amout..no donation is too small. They have written a book about their journey. It is an e book on Amazon and has gotten wonderful reviews. They wrote it to help others in similar circumstances. It is funny (Pat has not lost his incredible sense of humor), inspiring, life affirming and brutally honest.
