Help Lizzy and Her Boys

I am starting this fund raising campaign for Lizzy Hammons and her family. She has two young sons and her husband, James, whom she loves very much.
On July 23rd, James was involved in a, "violent crash on the North Loop" (KHOU.com, 2015) and was taken to the hospital in very serious (critical) condition. Here is the link to the story of the crash. Be cautioned, the photos are upsetting.

James is currently in very serious condition at Ben Taub Hospital and Lizzy has been with him since the awful incident occurred. He is unconscious and the doctors are doing everything they can to keep him from staying in a perpetual vegetative state.
I asked Lizzy to tell me a little bit about her and James and since there is no way I can put into my own words the beauty of her connection with him, here is what she wrote:
"We got together July 16th 2007. We met at a mutual friends party. He moved in with me two days later. We just knew. I have told him I loved him and vice versa from the very beginning. It was just an all consuming, hit it over the fence kind of feeling. 4 months into our relationship we got pregnant with Beau. I was scared out of my mind. James cried he was so happy. He went to every doctor appointment for both of my pregnancies, he never left my side. When we had our house fire in January 2011, he got splashed with the oil that started the fire. 30% of his body was burned. He literally took half a second to say ow.... Then grabbed my boys and got them out of the house. He spent 2 months in memorial Hermann burn unit. My kids didn't even have smoke inhalation issues. I never left his side. For two months I slept in the couch in his room. After the first week the nurses let me scrub him in the shower and change his bandages. Taking care of him is what I love for. It brings me joy.
We have split up several times. We have both screwed up and hurt each other. But we always come back to each other. Without fail. It's his turn. I'm waiting. I need him to come back to me.
Our boys are daddy's boys. I work, and James works from home. He was with the boys every single day. He took care of them every single day. He took them to the bayou to look at fish and turtles. When he needed to work he would load the boys up in the back of the truck and go through the neighborhood to look for cans to haul off to the scrap yard. They loved helping daddy. Anywhere we go if they found a can they had to pick it up and throw it in the truck because it was money for daddy. They love everything about their daddy and look up to him.
We couldn't get away much but every so often he would take me to go watch the airplanes land off of greens Rd in the back of the truck with some blankets. The last three weeks he took me to stetsons to go dancing where we had our first date. He didn't have a romantic bone in his body... But for me he tried. He is the absolute love of my life, the strongest man I know, and a survivor. He is my Superman. He has to come back to me." -Lizzy
Please, if you know Lizzy or James, consider sending a little love their way. Medical bills add up quickly and since Lizzy has been unable to work due to this tragedy, I think it's necessary that we come together and surround her and her boys with as much love as we can.
Love and Light,
Haley Grimland
