Community
The Kinsale area population suffers from a lack of sustainable connectivity - no cycleways, no footpaths, scarce buses, intermittent taxis, and one town centre jammed with cars. So what can we do ?
Kinsale Trails was set up by 13 local community groups in Dec 2020 to work together on improvements that will benefit how we all live and work in P17 . Through their joint efforts the group won a €22,500 (90%) grant to start planning a network of trails to connect Kinsale and its hinterlands, from Riverstick to Garrettstown, from Old Head to Roberts Cove, Riverstick, Belgooly, Tracton and villages and amenities along the way.
Establishing selected 'trails' for cyclists, walkers, residents & visitors benefits communities, local enterprise, and our precious biodiversity. Our most valuable assets.
Right now we are raising the 10% (€2500) outstanding funding by August 10th.
We would love your support, however small, and to invite you to see the results, and have your say about this incredible work, at an open presentation late August.
This appeal is on behalf of Future Kinsale, Transition Town Kinsale, Belgooly Walkers, Kinsale OEC, Wild Atlantic Sport, Lusitania Museum & Signal Tower, Kinsale Loves Bikes, Courceys Integrated Rural Dev Assn, Coastal Walks (Kinsale AFC), Clontead Parish Life, Tracton Community Council
