In loving memory of Debs

An inspiration and fighter, we were devastated to learn of Debs passing, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Through every step of her illness, she showed incredible strength and determination. The team have decided to set up a fund to support Debs' husband, Jock, and show our love and support to the family.

Debs was a valued member of our team at SRL, her contributions were significant, respected and more importantly appreciated.

Debs’ manager, Paul, reflected:

“Debs was a true mother figure for everyone at the Birmingham depot. There was nothing she didn’t know, and she was always happy to help. She was diligent, caring and incredibly thorough in her work. They say you don’t know what you’ve got ‘til it’s gone, and that just feels so fitting for Deb. Only when she took ill did we see the astronomical amount of work that she was doing, and what a giant void she was leaving. Debs was a strong, incredible woman, who kept us all in shape. Just awesome. We’ll miss her terribly.”

Debs’ friend, Trace, said:

“When I joined SRL 5 years ago, Debs was amazing from the offset; providing guidance, support and sharing her experience and knowledge. When Debs took Ill, I helped support her region, in turn allowing us to build a stronger friendship. Debs was a tough cookie and never minced her words. On one visit, I explained the team had ‘broken into’ a cabinet that day. She laughed, threw me the set of keys, and said, “How long did it take them? They never asked right person for the keys did they…” Debs had a devilish sense of humour. RIP, my friend, until we meet again.”

Any donations will go to Debs' loving husband, Jock, to help ease the burden over the coming weeks.
