My name is Jon, aka Hang, and I'm trying to create a satire/horror game named Murder King. Murder king is a game where you collect food; with a twist. Throughout the game, you are being hunted by a crazed man who wants nothing but to sell you something; something evil. You must avoid him at all costs and obtain all your food to complete your meal; or die trying. It is a satire/horror parody game currently with a small fanbase.
At the moment, I'm a college student trying to work his way to a computer science/coding degree one step at a time and creating this game as my hobby, but working hard at it. While I am learning what I can to code the game, there's still a lot that comes with it behind the scenes that really rakes out the cash (especially for a college student) like paying for animation, models, rights, and LLC (did you know if you get an LLC in New York, they charge you 200 extra dollars as a fee "just because"?), etc. Unfortunately for me, I don't have a team of my own, so this is the path I have to take to create the game.
Despite the amount I have to spend to make the game, I am having the time of my life. The whole point of the game is to create something people can enjoy; a short single-player experience that can put smiles on some faces. I've dedicated so much to this idea that I'm picking up extra jobs just to try and pay for it all.
The point of this gofundme is so people like you who are interested in the idea can help fund it and shape what it is soon to be. Donations will cover costs for creating the game as a whole, ranging from paying for animations/models, to rights, to help create more advertising, etc. Of course, if you're here looking at this deciding whether or not you should donate, the choice is really yours. Any donation made would really mean so much to me, this game is my dream and I hope to reflect that hilarious dream to your PC screen, as well as your TV for Xbox/Playstation, and even your Nintendo Wii's (this probably won't actually happen but it would be pretty cool if it did). I know we're all going through a tough time in the world right now, so I want to make it clear I'm not asking anything of anyone.
