Matthew's brain tumor surgery
Donation protected
This is Matthew,
He is a joyful and cheeky 8-year-old boy who has recently been re-diagnosed with a fast-growing brain tumor, a diffused midline glioma (which was previously removed when he was only 3 years old). Matthew has been attending Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology and Occupational therapy since he was young to support his disability as well as ongoing medical treatments. Unfortunately, his tumor is not responding to chemo and radiotherapy, which are the only treatment options he has been provided in Australia.
The family have, therefore, decided to undergo life-saving surgery overseas to get Matthew the best possible outcomes. This will mean undergoing two life-saving surgeries, one of which he underwent on Friday, 2/02/24 and another to follow. As with any surgery, particularly overseas, there are many out-of-pocket costs involved; the surgeries themselves will cost over $60,000 not including accommodation, flights, etc.
We are hoping to support him and his family as much as we can and trying to lift some of the financial burden during these tough times.
We along with the family including Matthew’s parents and his brothers would appreciate any donation, big or small.
To raise additional funds and awareness, Matthew's amazing Physiotherapist Sherrie (pictured above supporting Matthew) will be shaving off all her hair!! We will be running a google meet link on 22/02/24 at 12pm for anyone who would like to jump on and watch.

Thank you for supporting Matthew and his family, we can't do this without you!
