Help Her Heal

Hello, my name is Debbie, and I have created this GoFundMe for my dearest friend, who is the SURVIVOR of this horrific attack. Those of us that know & love her are trying to find any way to support her healing and recovery. Because of the brutality of this attack, she wishes to withhold her full name from the public. However, I hope to convey how special she is and how this event has impacted her.

She is the brightest and shiniest person I know. Small in stature but big in personality, she is kind, compassionate, loves and accepts others, and is also a fierce little pocket full of dynamite. In short, she is a beautiful woman with a bright future and was set to start nursing school in the fall. However, in the early hours of Sunday, July 31, 2022, she was viciously attacked while walking her two beloved dogs in the neighborhood. Her attacker tackled her from behind and unleashed a brutal physical and sexual assault. Despite efforts to fight off her attacker, she was beaten severely and suffered significant injuries. Her injuries included but were not limited to: multiple facial fractures (nose, eyesocket, upper and lower jaw), extensive bruising and swelling, cuts and scrapes all over her body, and many teeth knocked out. To those who know her, she is physically unrecognizable. She will need months to heal from the physical aspects of this attack and will require extensive dental reconstruction. Beyond her physical healing, she will likely need much longer to recover from the emotional wounds. She is currently unable to work due to her injuries and will need assistance to support herself while she focuses on healing and possibly relocating.

Following the attack, many community members reached out inquiring about ways to help. Despite her reluctance, she agreed to allow us to establish this GoFundMe page. This GoFundMe page is the only approved source to donate to the survivor. Please help us show her that she is not alone as she recovers from this attack.
