Support Esther Mateen's Family in Their Time of Loss
Donation protected
Financial assistance is needed to assist the family with going to bury their wife/mother.
Esther was the pillar of strength for her family of men. Although she was sick, she worked hard to provide all that they needed to live a happy life. After 20+ years of working while her body was wracked with pain from her lupus, she never complained. Those who knew her could count on her big smile and helpful demeanor. She may not have been able to walk fast to get to places, but when she got there, she offered a powerful brain, quick wit, and an eagerness to help.
Esther Mara Mateen, 61, of Richardson, Texas, returned to the energy of our universe on November 10, 2024.
Esther was born in Gary, Indiana, on April 12, 1963, to RC and Mary Core. Her love of understanding how things work together led her into the technology field, beginning as a computer programmer and rising to become a project manager in Information Technology.
She married Wallace D. Mateen (August 18, 1990) and moved from Gary, Indiana, to Richardson, Texas, where, in her words, "I had the life I imagined, the house I wanted, the family that loved me, and the job I desired."
Esther is survived by her husband, Wallace D. Mateen; her sons, Wallace S. Mateen (Gigi) and their two sons, Alexander and Augustus, and Keith Mateen and his daughter, Aubrey. She is also survived by five sisters: Betty Wallace, Pamela Marshall, Marilyn Core, Burnetha Core, and Teresa Core; and two brothers, George Core and Fred Core, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, RC and Mary Core; her sisters, Rita Meadows and Donna Smith; and her nephew, Ricky Mayhoe.
