Mercy’s Medical Fund

Dear Family, Friends and Well-Wishers,

We the Team for Mercy’s Medical Fund in Australia, are writing this message with a deep thought of our late brother Mantani of the Hardlife Avenue stars who sadly recently lost his life in a motorcycle accident in Moyo Uganda.

MANTANI’S BIGGEST DREAM before His death was to find treatment for his daughter, Mercy Tani. Mercy was born with a disability and at age of 5 she is still unable to walk. The family and friends of Mantani have been working tiredly to make sure Mantani’s dream of having his daughter walk is fulfilled.

With the support of Mantani’s family and the contribution from many of you both financially and in any other way, we all have successfully completed the first step of the process by sending Winnie, Mantani’s wife and Daughter Mercy to India for medical consultation and this process was successful.

The doctors in India have so far confirmed that, they can do the surgery required for Mercy to walk. Great news, isn’t it?

The surgery will take place in stages. The first stage followed by rehabilitation and then later another corrective surgery which will be followed by yet again another rehabilitation phase.

Here is a breakdown of the cost for each stage of the surgery:

1: Consultation and evaluation $800 USD FULLY PAID
2. First stage knee surgery $6100 USD FULLY PAID
3. Physiotherapy and rehabilitation $5000 USD NOT YET PAID
4. Second stage of the surgery of the knee will be done in 5 or 6 months time from the date of the first surgery and it costs $6000 USD NOT YET PAID
5. Cost of living in India is estimated at $30 USD per day for six months which comes to approximately $5500 USD NOT YET PAID.

The first stage of the surgery has been fully paid and funded by the Australian team and this surgery will take place in the next few days.

However, the money is short, and we are requesting for more financial support from your hands. For those of you who once said or use phrases like " We will be here to support our daughter Mercy" or "I want to support Mantani dream for his daughter to walk" we are pleading with you all that "this is the time". We are in need of financial support again for physiotherapy costing, and Part 2 of the surgery, and most importantly, the living costs for Winnie and the Daughter Mercy in India, they are in need of an apartment room near the hospital as requested by the doctors so that in case of any emergency.

We can do this by you putting anything in your hand to support MERCY TANI in her journey to walk and play like the rest of her friends.

We are in a goal of $20,000 USD to pay off the balance for the surgery and cost of post-surgery care a upon her return to Juba.

Anything you have will count greatly towards Mercy medical treatment.
We the team for Mercy’s Medical Fund in Australia thank you all for your support.

RIP Mantani, in loving memory of you, with so much love,
The team for Mercy Medical Fund in Australia.
