Jimmy Hand

We are the Hand family and we have recently been blessed with our little bundle of joy Jimmy. Jimmy was born on January 5th, 2023 (20 days before his due date) and was in shock. His organs began to rapidly fail, heart, lungs, and kidneys were not responding. We honestly were being prepared for the worst by the medical team. The first night was the scariest of our lives but he fought hard and pulled through. Jimmy was placed on a ventilator and also had to be placed on dialysis to help get fluid off of his body because his kidneys weren’t doing it for him. At one point Jimmy looked like a balloon animal version of a baby, so puffy. Over the corse of his stay in the NICU he has recovered well for the most part! The breathing tube is out and his heart is pumping strong. His kidneys are still not working properly but we are praying for his recovery daily! Jimmy was also diagnosed with a genetic disorder. It doesn’t have a name because it’s so rare but it is a genetic mutation of the TRNT1 gene. If you Google this it’s very scary and of the 44 known cases worldwide it looks extra scary. He is the YOUNGEST person to have been diagnosed with TRNT1. We know that God has a plan and we are praying that our little guy will have a very mild version of this disorder. Hopefully Jimmy will be able to pave the way for future children born with this diagnosis and help them! We didn’t even know if we should create one of these but with upcoming financial stuff we thought it might not be a terrible idea. Plus when I posted that we would appreciate any financial help offered a few people told me we should make a go fund me so here we are. Our goal is $1 because honestly anything sent our way is considered a gift and we are extremely grateful More than anything prayers are MOST appreciated
