Help for Leland

As many of you know, our good friend Leland was diagnosed with stage 4 colon/liver cancer back in February 2022. As I am sure you are aware the prognosis for stage 4 cancer can be bleak. After much consideration and conversation, it was decided to get a second opinion at MD Anderson Medical Center in Houston Texas. In April of 2022 Leland made a trip to Houston and with that trip came new hope. For the past 10 months, Leland has been making various trips to MD Anderson in Houston. There he has been cared for by various doctors and a treatment plan was developed. He started chemo here in Kearney under the care of his doctor in Houston. He has completed 12 rounds of chemo and two liver surgeries that were performed in Houston. These surgeries have been a great success and with this success comes the next stage in Leland's battle.

In January Leland will travel to MD Anderson for a month-long stay to undergo targeted radiation treatment and final colon surgery. If all continues to go as planned, this would be the final stage of the initial plan laid out in April 2022 by the amazing doctors at MD Anderson.

It has been a long and difficult year. And though Leland has been able to work some while going thru treatment, the medical bills and travel costs are starting to pile up. Along with Lelands's insurance deductibles and copays, he is also responsible for all travel costs including airfare, room and board. It was determined early on in this battle, that these costs were worth it, as the first opinion/prognosis was not an option. We would like to help Leland and Morgan offset some of these costs and that is what this fundraiser will be used for. Please help if you can.
