Standing Together for Luke: A Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,
I write to you today with a heavy heart to share some deeply troubling news about my beloved brother, Luke. On October 5th, he was admitted to Kelowna General Hospital due to concerns about a brain tumor. After extensive testing, we received the heartbreaking diagnosis: Luke most likely has cancer in his right lung, which has spread to his brain, and may have originated from his bowel or gut.
This news has shaken our family to its core. On October 16th, Luke bravely underwent a 6.5-hour brain surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible. He is now in recovery, awaiting further tests and a treatment plan from the BC Cancer Agency, which will likely include radiation and chemotherapy. Despite the daunting prognosis, Luke remains resolute in his fight.
At just 28 years old, Luke was in excellent health before this unexpected turn. Now, he is unable to work, and the rising medical expenses are a heavy burden for all of us. His current job did not provide disability insurance, which adds to our worries as we seek ways to support him.
This is why we are reaching out. We have created a GoFundMe page to help cover Luke's medical expenses, a special diet to support his health, necessary equipment, medications, and supplements to enhance his strength. Luke will also pursue genetic therapy through the BC Cancer Society, alongside alternative treatments. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference in his journey.
Luke is a remarkable person—kind, compassionate, and a source of light in our lives. He is a fantastic uncle, a loving son, a fun brother, and the best friend anyone could ask for. Even in his own struggle, he has offered comfort to other patients around him. Now, it’s our turn to envelop him with love and support as he faces this incredible challenge.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for considering a donation to help Luke in this fight. Your generosity and compassion mean the world to us as we come together to support our beloved brother during this difficult time.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Cassie Glover
