Help Brittany Fight Cancer

"I take thee to be my wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or worse, for richer and poorer, in sickness and health, to love and to cherish..."

Did you ever think you would start your marriage by putting your vows to the test? I've prepared for it, but I didn't expect to be tested so hard, so quickly.

So here we are a month before our beach wedding sitting on the tenth floor of MUSC Rutledge Tower talking to our newly assigned team of cancer doctors, and on Brittany's Birthday no less. We have been preparing for Brittany's surgery since yesterday. What started off as a simple biopsy of the tongue has turned into Stage I oral cancer. Five minutes into the physical assessment, it had been upgraded into Stage II cancer. And after reviewing the PET CT scan, it's highly probable we're dealing with Stage III cancer. The many doctors have been preparing Brittany for the strong likelihood of needing radiation post-op.

Brittany has spent the last year fighting on the front lines as a 911 EMT at Charleston County EMS, while simultaneously finishing up her degree in Respiratory Therapy. She has gone over a full year taking care of Covid patients both prehospital and in the ICU on a regular basis - only to get Cancer.

Family and Friends have rallied around her with support and many of you have asked, "What can I do to help?" Honestly, the medical bills are already adding up quickly. A number of friends have suggested that we create this "Go fund me". So if you are feeling generous and want to help, we will graciously accept any donations.

Brittany does so much to help her community on a regular basis that any donation to her is ultimately an investment in the community.
In addition, if you have a moment pray for Brittany, she would certainly appreciate it:

Lord, make me strong, not for the sake of possessing strength, but to make me sufficient for the crisis moments in our life and in the life of others who reach out to me.

"Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him, and he will act"
-PSALM 37:5

So from the bottom of our hearts and we thank you
