Sharon’s gonna beat cancer!
My warrior sister Sharon Seymour (formally Sharon Whitson) was diagnosed with a very rare cancer that effects only .001% of people. This cancer was actually a side effect from the radiation that she
received 10 years for cervical cancer.
Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor.
This tumor was located in her pelvis area in a
bad area. Operable, but this operation will be
a tough one leaving her right leg basically
paralyzed. It was supposed to be an operation
that would leave my sister in the hospital for 3-6 weeks and rehab to learn to walk again for
3-6 weeks. She would come out of this with no
feeling in her leg and a permanent brace on it.
She went into the hospital on January 28th of
this year. Her surgery turned into 2 surgeries
to remove the cancer. Then 5 more surgeries
due to side effects and complications. She was
transferred from the UW Medical Center to
Kindred Hospital last week. She has been in
the hospital going on 11 weeks now. She is still healing. She still cannot sit up per doctors
orders. She has been forced to stay laying
down for 4 weeks now due to complications.
She still has not even begun to think of rehab
and learning how to use her leg and walk
again.
Sharon just started her new job the previous
year. She had been diagnosed with this cancer
not even a year into this new job. She is on a
FMLA for 12 weeks which was initially
denied. She is still waiting to hear back after
sending in more paperwork. She is close to
the 12 week mark now as it is.
I want to raise money for my sister so she can
focus all her energy on healing and staying
positive. With no income and stress of maybe
losing her job, her insurance, her home. She
needs to be able to not worry about that and
heal.
So friends and family if you are able to help
that would be awesome! My sister still has a
long road to recovery. A lot longer than the
initial 12 weeks timeframe.
Donate, share, and prayer. Any, either, or all
will help❤️
