Help Jody - Abdominal Surgery

This is my brother, Jody McIlvain, with his loving wife, Jamie, and their three adoring children. In August, Jody learned that he needed an invasive abdominal surgery to remove a large mass; whether or not it is malignant or benign will be determined after the surgery.

Let me tell you a bit about my brother and his family. Jody and Jamie always wanted a big family. Within a few years of getting married, baby number one came along. She waited and waited for a little brother or sister. Seven long years later, after fertility treatments, a miracle happened and a baby brother entered the picture. Happy and blessed, Jody and Jamie looked expectantly to their future as a family of four. Then, out of the blue, came another little brother.

This is a frightening and uncertain time for Jody, Jamie, their children, and loved ones. In mid-October Jody will be treated at the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah, 550 miles from his home and family in Billings. While he has insurance from his job as a high school math teacher, there will be expenses associated with travel, room/board, and unforeseen medical expenses not covered by insurance.

Their courage and resilience is a testament to their faith and love for one another and their family. Jody and Jamie are standing strong, but they still need our help…
