A six letter word that shatters lives and and forever changes the course of a family’s story. It’s comes with more hurt and devastation than parents should ever have to feel.
The day we found out about a tumor growing in Callie’s body was October 9, 2015. I remember the exact moment down to the smallest details. It’s etched in my brain so deep.
Fast forward and that 2 1/2 year old is now 11 1/2. Except that two year old was told when she was 4 that she was cancer free and let me tell you the joy and triumph that rung through our hearts was loud.
After a couple of years of believing the worst was behind us, we were blindsided by the news we prayed would never come: the cancer has returned, and this time, it’s relentless.
While cancer has taken more from this little girl and her family than even imaginable….
F A I TH. J O Y. H O P E. P E A C E.
Have been their words and been shown in their actions. Through countless hospital visits, overnight stays, medication changes, doctor apportionments, years of sleepless nights, and tears. Callie and her family have shown us the true meaning of living a life to the fullest.
Faith that there is a God with a plan that even though no one can understand it, we know he has one.
Joy to live in the moment. Take the trips. Say yes to unexpected things. Live in the moment and be ever present for all the memories.
Hope that while time on this earth is short, we know we will be reunited again for eternity.
Peace that God, family, and friends will hold them close and will continue to keep them covered in prayers.
As Scott and Tabitha make plans and decisions that will wreck even the hardest of hearts, I can think of one more thing that could help. The upcoming days are going to be the hardest days this family will have to endure. So how else can we help?
In these heart-wrenching days, what the family needs most is the freedom to be together without the burden of financial worry. The gift of time so they can just be…even though no time will ever seem like enough. We can help give financially so in these devastating days, they know they don’t have to worry about finances.
You have all prayed and have continued to give and show up in monumental ways for them, as her family, saying thank you doesn’t seem like enough, but thank you.❤️ Together, we will help carry this family through their darkest hour.
