We are reaching out to our community to rally around our beautiful Anna as she undergoes the fight of her life against brain cancer.
Anna is a devoted mother to her two-year-old daughter Arabella, a loving partner to her fiancé Jake, a cherished daughter, sister, best-friend, and friend. She is loving, kind, hard-working and considerate. When she is not working in her role as an employment recruiter, she dedicates her time to caring for her family and spending time with those she loves most.
Born in England, Anna moved to the Central Coast, NSW, at a very young age, where she built a beautiful life surrounded by friends and family. She welcomed her daughter Arabella in September 2022, and a year later, celebrated her engagement to her fiancé, Jake. In August 2024, Anna turned 30, full of excitement for the future, as she and Jake began planning their wedding and searching for their family home. In October 2024, their happiness grew with the incredible news that Anna was pregnant with their second child - a baby boy.
Just one week later, Anna’s world was turned upside down. After experiencing sudden, unusual symptoms, she rushed to the hospital, where doctors discovered a large tumour on her brain. She was immediately transferred to Royal North Shore Hospital, where days of nerve-wracking tests led to the devastating diagnosis of high-grade astrocytoma, Grade 3 brain cancer.
With her age and health on her side, her surgeon acted quickly. Anna underwent surgery to remove a 6cm tumour from her brain. After spending three long weeks in the hospital, fighting to regain her strength and independence, Anna was finally able to return home to her family.
During this time, Anna and Jake were faced with an unimaginable decision. After countless discussions with her doctors, Anna was advised that continuing her pregnancy would not be safe due to the aggressive treatment plan of radiation and chemotherapy required to fight her cancer. This heartbreaking decision was another devastating blow for Anna and Jake.
Anna’s journey is not yet over. Her treatment path is long and rigorous; consisting of six and a half weeks of radiation therapy, followed by an estimated 6 – 12 months of chemotherapy. Anna is unable to return to work during this time of treatment and recovery. Her partner, Jake, has also had to take leave from his job to care for their daughter, Arabella, and to care for and support Anna.
This diagnosis has turned Anna and her family’s world upside down. The road ahead will be challenging, with intensive treatments, countless hospital visits, and the emotional and financial toll that comes with battling cancer. But if there’s one thing we know, it’s that Anna is a fighter - and she’s not alone.
We are asking for your support to help Anna and her family during this incredibly difficult time. Your donations will go towards medical expenses, IVF treatments for their future family planning, travel costs, caregiving costs, lost income, and easing the financial strain so Anna can focus on what matters most: her health and her family.
Let’s show Anna the same love and care she has always shown others. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. We understand not everyone will be able to donate, so if instead you could share this to spread awareness, it would mean the world to us.
All donations will be given directly to Anna, Jake and Arabella.
Thank you for standing with Anna in her fight.
