I decided to volunteer walking dogs for the Sean Casey Animal Rescue shelter in Brooklyn for my Bar Mitzvah project because I have always loved animals and me and my family got our first cat, Brady from the Sean Casey shelter. I have met so many amazing dogs during the walks. The picture shows me with one of the dogs, Monk. Monk liked to take lots of breaks during his walk and would snuggle up in my lap. Before I took him for a walk, Monk had some shots to keep him healthy, but the shots also made him sleepy.
Monk and the other animals are all rescued from the streets or dropped off by owners who can no longer care for them. Sometimes I go into the shelter to see some of the cats. There are so many cats and most of them are sick, there are only a couple that you can pet. This is why for my Bar Mitzvah project I would like to raise money to help Sean Casey pay for food, medicine and the workers that care for the animals. Any donations would help a lot and be greatly appreciated.
More information about Sean Casey Animal Rescue: We are a 501(c)(3) Not-for-Profit, No-Kill shelter serving the tri-state area and beyond. We rescue and rehome over 2000 dogs, cats, birds, reptiles and small mammals yearly. Our Critical Care Program provides life-saving medical care to animals who have nowhere else to go. We are proud of the work we do to provide a safe haven for our beautiful animals and to create new loving families. Without your generous donations our life-saving work would not be possible. Thank you for your support.
