Ana’s Road to Recovery

On Sunday March 10th while skiing with her family and friends Ana Lynch had a tragic ski accident near the bottom of Lookout Ridge trail in Big Sky Montana. Thanks to the quick work of the Big Sky Ski Patrol, Ana was safely brought down from the mountain and airlifted via helicopter to the level 1 trauma center at the Billings Clinic in Billings Montana. Upon arrival Ana immediately received a CT scan that revealed a burst T12 vertebra which was causing pressure on her spinal cord. The surgical team at the trauma center quickly mobilized to remove the vertebrae and stabilize Ana’s spine. The complex surgery took nearly 9 hours. While there are still many unknowns, the surgical team, Ana’s family and most importantly Ana remain extremely hopeful and confident that she will have a full recovery.

The road to recovery will take time. Over the coming weeks, months and perhaps longer, the Lynch Family will continue to face many unforeseen expenses as a result of this tragic accident. The days ahead will present many challenges, but there is one thing that we all know: Ana is an amazing young woman with tremendous strength and resolve.
