The Story of Baba
2014 at the age of 9. The life of Tru-Mercedes aka The Baba was about to change. After on-going breathing complications, Baba was diagnosed with severe pulmonary hypertension which is a form of heart disease.
For Baba, this condition claimed her early life, robbing her of her childhood and education. Her days are spent fighting this disease.
For such a young child, she has shown true grit and courage in her fight and has been fighting for years with a finish line that is yet to come.
She has been a Warrior from day one
2018 after leaving her homeland New Zealand, in hopes for better medical care in Australia, Baba enters into another fight for her life.
As always, Baba is strong, shows courage and might but this time, it’s different. She’s in need of new lungs and a new heart.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil, for you Lord, you are with me. Amen.
We humbly ask for your help…Please help us raise funds to support Baba.
Finding employment in Australia hasn't been easy for her parents and it's not from a lack of trying, but rather from a run of untimely badluck.
Living in a foreign country like Australia, Baba doesnt qualify for much medical assistance.
Her Heart and lung transplant was a success. However, the after-care is crucial. Her path to recovery will be long and expensive.
Although they have prepared for Baba’s journey, no one can be quite ready for this.
The Goal of this Campaign
This campaign is set up to support Baba in her brave battle. The goal is to fund enough money to help with her on-going medical care and all the the hardships that are involved with living with this disease.
Your Impact on Donating to Baba
Money will go towards a better quality of life:
• Medical equipment/Living cost- new bed, wheel chair, and diet supplemented foods
• Reliable transportation- a car to travel to regular doctor appointments
• On going medication- currently is under a drug prescription with no medical assistance
• Education- correspondant schooling
Big or small, we appreciate any effort. Any prayers and thoughts that is given to our family.
It is uncomfortable for us to ask you for money, but let’s give Baba a fighting chance. Let’s help her breathe.
