BABEL Fundraiser 2017!
Donation protected
The BABEL Working Group is a collective of scholars, thinkers, and artists, founded by medievalists in 2004. BABEL aims to create more accessible, more just, more promiscuous, and more convivial intellectual worlds. Help us continue to do so! All funds raised will be used either for RADICAL COVIVIALITY (wine reception at Kalamazoo, $1000; annual Bell's Brewery Open Bar, $2000) or ENABLING ACCESS (James J. Paxson Memorial Travel Grant for Scholars of Limited Funds, 4 grants of $500; Travel & acccomodation grants for 2017 Biennial BABEL Meeting in Reno, NV, Oct 26-29, $3000). *ALL* money raised here will be used only for the initiatives just listed.
BABEL has no membership fees (indeed has no fixed membership), so this campaign is the only chance we have to raise money. The success of our fundraising directly affects (for instance) how many Paxson Grants we can give out, and whether we can continue to invite the whole International Congress on Medieval Studies to have a Bell's beer on us.... PLEASE GIVE & help BABEL continue to incite more gorgeous encounters & more equitable futures.
Fundraising crescendos & concludes with Kalamazoo (May 14, 2017)!
