Baby Allison's NICU expenses and parents support

Samantha & Justin conceived last summer after trying to conceive for two years. The past nine months have been the happiest time in their life, and then the unthinkable happened. In Samantha's 36th week of pregnancy, her blood pressure spiked, and she was admitted to the hospital. After multiple days of monitoring, the doctor said it was time to deliver via c-section.

 

Everything seemed normal. When their daughter was delivered, she wasn't breathing. The NICU staff rushed in and worked for 9 minutes before she started to breathe. Their baby daughter was flown to All Childrens hospital to save her life. She is undergoing hypothermia treatment to give her brain a chance to recover.

 

Justin hasn't been able to work, and it's unclear when he will be able to return to work. The hospital is 70 minutes from home. They have health insurance, but the maximum out of pocket, which both baby & Mom have already reached due to extensive medical care, is $12,000.

 

We beg for you to help out our friends. They live a normal working class life and the financial devestation on top of the stress of caring for a daughter that may need extensive medical care and therapy is terrifying. Every penny will go to them to help with medical and personal bills until Justin returns to work.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dana & I have created this request asking for financial support as our best friend, and her husband are in great need. The 3 of us have been friends since 5th grade - we may not be related by blood, but we share a bond that goes deeper.
