- Hi, my name is Sydney. On October 21st, we lost the best dad and best friend ever. Corbin was in a car accident. He passed away at the scene. Corbin was an amazing man; he was always there for anyone who needed someone. He had so much he was looking forward to in life. This year was supposed to be the best year of our lives. In July 2021, we found out that we were having a baby; he was so excited to be a dad and to share his wisdom with his child. We found out we were having a boy. He knew right away what he wanted his name to be Arthur James Buss. He got the name Arthur from king Arthur because he was going to be as strong and cool as him then James, after his father's name and Corbins middle name, he wanted his name to carry on forever. We had Arthur on 2/22/22 best day of our lives. He was so happy to be a dad. He loved Arthur so much and was so excited to do so much with him. Our lives were going so well he asked me to marry him on Mother's day. I was so happy and excited to be with him forever. We recently moved to cottage grove to start our new life, everything was so great, and life was amazing. Arthur loved when his daddy would come home from work. He would scream at him and laugh when he would see him. The last time I saw Corbin was Thursday afternoon. He was so excited for Friday we were going to go bring Arthur to a waterfall the last thing he said to me was, "I love you so much and I'm so excited for tomorrow, be safe". I tried to call him the next morning and he didn't answer. I got a call from his mom, and she told me he had passed and my whole life shattered. I've never felt this hurt before in my life. Arthur turned 8 months old that morning Corbin was so excited to see him in his little bowtie. Life has gotten so hard for us now, he keeps waiting for his daddy to come home, and soon he won't remember him. This tragedy in our lives left me alone to take care of our baby boy, our two beautiful dogs that he loved so much, and our two cats.
- Corbin was working two jobs to support us. He wanted Arthur to be at home with me. He worked at Park High School. He loved his job. He loved being able to help his students. He always wanted to be a therapist to always be there for kids in need. He loved all of his coworkers from every job and everyone loved him. He was so intelligent and wise. He was so passionate about everything he loved. He was so obsessed with his comics. To the point, he always had to buy the new ones. He would always show me his new ones and was so excited to read them to Arthur. He was so excited to watch Arthur grow up. He wanted more kids he wanted a big family like mine. Football and baseball were his life always had to watch it and Arthur loved to watch them with him too. If you knew Corbin at any point in your life, you were blessed to meet this amazing man. We miss him so much and will always love you.
