Baby Bach Tour: Classical for Kids!

If you're reading this, I've already hit the road! See www.kenneyelkomous.com for more details, apart from the summary below the photo.
I'm a classical guitarist, and I love performing for children. I love the debate I had yesterday with a toddler about whether she was wearing a crown or a tiara (I won the debate; it was a crown). I love bringing the mother and grandfather of a 6-month old to tears -- they were laughing so hard -- when I "accused" the baby of having anger management issues, because she was glaring at me. And all of this took place within the context of my performing for them everything from Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, to Villa Lobos' Prelude No. 3.
For the classical aficionados, yes, I can make Prelude No. 3 fun and entertaining for kids. Just watch me.
And so, I'm traveling the country (and at least one stop in Canada) to do just that. I will be reaching out to children's hospitals, homeless shelters, schools, and day cares, and any referrals or suggestions are welcome. If you would like to host a private house concert for adults in order to raise funds, I'm all for it (No ageism on this tour!).
My financial ask in this campaign is to help cover travel, food, ongoing personal expenses, and my $150 an hour performance fee. I will still be asking institutions I perform at to cover this fee, but your support will enable me to broaden the base of children and parents that I can reach.
What's in it for me, apart from loving to share music with the young, and the young at heart? The last 16 months have been far and away the most difficult I've ever endured. I could tell you stories, stories that cover those 16 months, and stories that go back 35 years.
But what I realized about those stories is that the main character -- yours truly -- is unique, but the stories and circumstances themselves have been replicated many times the world over. I have a lot to heal from, and what better way to heal than to offer healing? I believe that you have to GIVE the thing that you seek.
Love,
Kenney
