Baby Barrett's CDH & Preemie Journey

Hi, my name is Debbie Blair and I am raising funds to help alleviate some of the stress for my daughter Emma, her boyfriend Zak and their miracle baby Barrett Michael. Barrett was born at 29 weeks, weighing 4lbs 1oz. Being that premature has quite a few complications and challenges. He also has Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) CDH is a hernia (or hole) in his diaphragm that has allowed his stomach and small intestines to move up into his chest cavity. This has greatly stunted the growth and development of his lungs and has also displaced his heart. Needless to say, he is in the NICU and will be for a few months at the very least. Currently he has only 1 lung working and the other is just very very tiny. He will need surgery to repair the hernia and move the organs back to the right places. The Drs have not told us when the surgery will be due to his fragile state. We do know he needs to get bigger and stronger before they can consider surgery. He is on a ventilator and Emma and Zak have not even held him yet. Emma is at the NICU all day talking to him and touching him. Zak comes after work to spend time with his beautiful son. Driving to and from the hospital (they only have 1 car) and the logistics involved are stressful enough. We would love to take some of the burden of the worry/stress for paying for gas, food, etc. Any donation big or small is so greatly appreciated. We are praying for a miraculous healing for our baby Bear.
