Baby Cook’s financial fund
Anencephaly Acrania. Two words that completely shattered the world of my sister Kimberly Cook, her husband Eric Cook, and their 11 year old son John Ryan. After having a miscarriage 5 months ago they then became pregnant again with their rainbow baby, at 13 weeks pregnant they arrived for what they thought would be a normal checkup where the doctor informed them that something may be wrong with the baby. Two weeks later, at 15 weeks pregnant, another ultrasound and a second doctors opinion would reveal their baby BOY has Anencephaly Acrania.
Acrania is a rare congenital disorder, meaning that the bones in the cranial vault(skull), are absent. Because the bones are absent there is nothing protecting the babies brain from deteriorating, this leads to what has already been confirmed as starting, known as Anencephaly. Anencephaly is a defect in the formation of a baby's neural tube during development. A baby born with anencephaly might be stillborn or survive only a few hours to a few days after birth. There is no cure for this disorder, and throughout this journey many complications could arise for the mother and the baby.
Kimberly and Eric are needing financial support for missed work, Kimberly not being able to work, doctor bills that are already building up due insurance not paying 100% of the bills, and other arrangements that will need to be made for the baby passing after birth.
Eric and Kimberly have decided to carry the baby full term, and place the baby in God’s hands, trusting in his timing. This is a very hard time for them as a family. Along with any donations you are able to provide, Kimberly and Eric are asking for prayers because they know prayers are the most powerful weapon against the enemy. And our God is able to help them overcome this.
1 Samuel 1:27-28
27:I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him.
28:So now I give him to the LORD. For his whole life he will be given over to the LORD."
